About this Recipe

This is simple dessert, made from the two most common Khmer ingredients, rice and palm sugar, can be found in markets throughout the country. There is another version that has an oblong shape and is filled with sweet of mango & palm sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sticky rice
  • 1 cup good water
  • 2 cups cooker of sticky rice
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbs palm sugar
  • 1 piece mango

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Wash the rice in clear water 2-3 times, then add 2 cups of rice to 1 cup of water in a saucepan over the heat and cook for 15 minutes until the water is reduced. Start with slow cooking for 10 minutes or until the rice is completely cooked.

Step 2

In a saucepan, put some palm sugar, some coconut cream and a little salt.

Step 3

On the fire, until there is a little caramel, then add the sticky rice and mix well.

Step 4

Continue mixing slowly, one by one, for about 2 to 4 minutes or until the rice is completely smooth and sticky.

Step 5

Remove from heat by putting the sticky rice on the plate and flatten it.

Step 6

Peeled the mango and slice arranges it nicely on top of the sticky rice or nearby the plate.
